My research seeks to integrate the fields of microbial and plant ecology to better understand post-fire recovery and vegetation type conversion in Mediterranean shrubland ecosystems. I am particularly interested in how spatially linked temperature variation during prescribed fire alters soil microbial communities and plant community recovery.
