Research

Shelley is researching the ecology and control of a newly invasive ambrosia beetle species complex in southern California, the polyphagous and Kuroshio shot hole borers (Euwallacea spp. nr. fornicatus). She is interested in the beetle's host selection behavior, varying host susceptibility to infestation, and long-term impacts to riparian plant communities as well as general control strategies for introduced ambrosia beetles.
